Staff Profile

Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Shayne Felicien serves as the General Manager of the St. Lucia Co-operative Credit Union League Limited. Mr. Felicien brings in excess of twenty (20) years of experience within the financial services industry, notably private banking and the credit union movement. A Barrister by profession, Mr. Felicien has also served as Financial Controller, Operations Manager, Compliance Officer and General Manager within the industry.

With this broad range of experience, Mr. Shayne Felicien will guide the League as it seeks to navigate the new regulatory environment placed upon credit unions. Through Mr. Felicien, the League will usher in new visibility and relevance for the sector.

Diana is a long serving staff of the League who is a dedicated and committed individual. With the guidance of the general manager, she ensures the efficient and effective operation of the organization and maintains a line of communication with credit unions and stakeholders. Diana supports the team through her dedication and professional service. She holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from the Australian Institute of Business.

Ms. Lana Emmanuel brings 15 years experience in the financial services industry to the position of Data Protection Officer. Previously, Ms. Emmanuel served as the Card Services Officer where she was responsible for overseeing operations related to the UNICARD. In her new role, she is responsible for ensuring data protection compliance within the institution. She is also tasked with informing controllers and data subjects about their data protection rights, obligations and responsibilities. In her role, Ms. Emmanuel strives to uphold the credit unions’ mission of empowering members’ financially, delivering exceptional service and building trust within the communities.

Ms. Lisa Gidharry serves as the Project Officer. She brings extensive experience within the credit union movement, having previously served both on the Credit Committee and Board of Directors of a credit union and their marketing committee. Her practical knowledge and commitment to cooperative principles add significant value to the League’s development efforts. In her role, Ms. Gidharry assists in the design and implementation of programmes and initiatives aimed at strengthening member credit unions. She provides guidance on best practices and training, and oversees projects developed and managed by or through the League. Ms. Gidharry holds an Associate Degree in Education, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies (Financial Management), and a Master’s Degree in Education. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies, reflecting her strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Mr. Phillip has gained valuable experience in financial operations and member services through his work within the credit union movement. He currently serves as an Accounts & Research Clerk, applying his knowledge and skills to support accurate reporting and informed decision-making. He holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration and is presently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

Ms. Vernelle Jacob is the newest member of staff. Having worked within the movement for a period of time, Ms. Jacob has a sympathetic ear for affiliates. She is responsible for the smooth flow of the office and is dedicated to supporting efficient operations and exceptional member service. Ms. Jacob is committed to upholding the credit unions’ values of integrity, reliability and member satisfaction.
Ms. Jacob holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration and intends to pursue further studies in the near future.
